Mission Accomplished

He's here! He's here! Talk about a moment of pure joy! I am so proud of my brother. Love you Braiden!

The Haribo Hypothesis

My parents are a slight bit crazy, but I love them. Yesterday we gathered as a family to read the downright poetic reviews of sugar-free gummy bears on Amazon (Click here for the link). I was impressed by the language used to describe, well, lets just say, er, harrowing bouts of colossal diarrhea. We laughed for hours. I was amused, and slightly horrified. I literally laughed until I cried. Fast forward to that night. I came home from a date to find this in my kitchen:
An innocent looking bowl of gummy bears. Braiden, Jake, and I just stared at each other in horror. Gummy bears are scarier than Yzma around here. This morning, my parents woke us up for church and found us all staring at the bowl, not even daring to touch the little bears. She just started laughing. Cruel and unusual. We all ask the same question. Are these bears "fully weaponized?" Or a tasty snack? She won't crack. My parents think it is hilarious. They say it's a social experiment. Will someone get curious enough to risk their sphincter? Or their friends?
Trey has taken it upon himself to find out. Always the scientist. I feel a little bit like I'm living in a real life episode of The Big Bang Theory.
He even resorted to trickery. You might be shocked to find no one was fooled. But the question still lingers: If I ate a normal serving size (all of them), would my insides want to be on my outsides?

I bake?

Why am I taking pictures of my food and posting it? Isn't that worse than the "selfie"? Because these are quite possibly the most delicious cookies I've ever eaten in my entire life, and I made them! I had no idea I could bake. None whatsoever. I'm actually really proud of these little babies. Perhaps I'll try my hand in the kitchen more often.

On a completely unrelated note, I sure do love daisies. :)

Happy

Last Wednesday I was laying on the grass outside with a bunch of friends and I just couldn't help but think about how happy I am right now. July has been quite possibly my most favorite month of my entire life. I have amazing friends, family, and opportunities. And the church is still true. Here are a few of my latest adventures in pictures:
Girls camp.

Picnic on a roundabout.

Midnight Timp hike.
Dixie with my student council.

Just my best friend and I.
Making a picnic basket.
Dinner with my favorite girls.

Service projects.
Thoroughly Modern Millie at Tuachan.
Hiking.
Waterfalls.
Midnight Timp hike.
Long boarding.
Parades.

 I love summer.

Be in love with your life.

Pinned Image

I have been such a lame blogger lately, I know. And there was a lot that went undocumented, but oh well. I'm back now. :)

I've been thinking about this quote a lot lately. Sometimes I worry so much about the future. Especially with so many decisions and so much change that will be here very, very soon. It seems like I have to prepare constantly these days. I mean seriously, there are so many decisions I'm making today that could have a serious impact on future decisions and their outcomes. It’s quite the little obnoxious weight that never really seems to leave the back of my mind. And you know me, I'm pro at worrying. I should get some type of award, really.
But after talking to a few of my favorite individuals, such as my mom, dad, and Lesha Lou, among others, I have come to the conclusion that I just need to say "What the heck!" and go for it. I need to just love and live my life. Every minute of it. Because if I don’t, I know I’ll look back and think “What on earth was I thinking?” I was thinking too much, that’s what! I’m going to just go for it. I’m going to jump right in. I’m going to love life. I’m going to meet lots of people. I’m going to get out of my comfort zone and say “Hey, I’m Allie. Let’s be friends.” I’m going to run for student council in March. I’m going to work my tail off in track. I’m going to try out for acappella. I’m going to study the gospel like I never have before. I’m going to look goofy in front of all those people because I think it’s funny. I’m going to study hard for the ACT, take it again, and be happy. I’m not going to let fear of what might happen dictate what I do or don’t do. I am going to live life as it comes, work hard, take chances, and I’m going to be happy with it.  I want to look back at the end of everything and think “wow, I really knew how to live.” I am going to be in love with my life.

Three months in a Nutshell

So, it's been a while. I guess I better catch you up on where I've been for the past 3 months:
1. Highschool. We have a love/hate relationship.
2. Doing homework. A lot of it. Definately a hate relationship.
3. Running (Track season officially starts in 49 days...not that I'm counting or anything).
4. Oh, I went to Homecoming. I probably should have mentioned that.
5. A cute little red car appeared in my garage and Charlie disappeared. I'll post a picture and the story behind that later.

We're all caught up now, right? Right.
